As a law graduate who first trained as a teacher Ian returned to his legal roots and qualified as a solicitor in 1989. Since then he has handled a wide range of litigation matters with an emphasis
on family cases. Having spent almost ten years as a specialist children's lawyer he has for a number of years focussed more on divorce and finance.
A member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitiors' Family Law Association) he has a detailed knowledge of the law and procedures of matrimonial finance. He was in the first wave of solicitors to gain
the right to present cases in the Higher Courts as a Solicitor Advocate. He has personal experience of divorce and believes that as a result he has a far better understanding of the trauma affecting
separated families.
